Have you ever heard of Shikoku Pilgrimage? It is one of the most well-known pilgrimages in Japan with a long history of some 1200 years. The Shikoku Pilgrimage has 88 Buddhist temples to visit on Shikoku Island, and the total distance is about 1200 km. There are eight sacred sites in Matsuyama City.
On this tour, we will visit one to four temples depending on the course you select.
First of all, you can learn the basic way to visit temples of Shikoku Pilgrimage at the first temple.
After that, please spend time freely at each temple.
On the way to the temples, we avoid heavily trafficked big roads and go along mainly narrow roads for walking pilgrims.
With going up and down on winding paths by the side of orange fields, it is like a maze!
You may find walking pilgrims in a white costume during the ride.
Depending on the combination of the temples to visit, let’s bring a bicycle onto a train along the way.
